The Waterjet is an amazing in how the simple concept of erosion is corralled and controlled to cut intricate parts with extreme accuracy. In 1996 JDA was the first machine job shop in Chicago to have a Waterjet for non-product specific work. Having to prove the technology to the machining world and the midwest, JDA strived to do the best job they could and virtually perfect the art of water jetting. In utilizing many natural resources, the Waterjet takes highly filtered water, pushes it through a hydraulic intensifier, the water mixes with a emerald abrasive, passes through the cutting head to provide a precise cut. JDA has cut stainless steel for NASA that was 8" thick to paper books for an art exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Since the first Static hole was put in a ferrous piece of material in the mid-70's at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) the technology of Waterjet cutting has become the fastest machine tool in the industry. What can JDA do for you? - For custom, prototype work or low production runs, JDA has low lead times which will help provide a quick turn around for first runs or to help get your product to the market as quick as possible. Our water jet service can “Rough Out” or “Blank” parts leaving material for secondary operations which will save time and money for your processing of the finished product. Water jet cutting will not produce a heat induced “stressed” or work hardened parts as produced by laser or plasma, which will be more difficult to machine. This process will help produce higher quality at less cost for you and your customers. JDA Has the ability to save you more money by "nesting" your parts on sheets / plates to get the best material yield as possible. JDA has a complete machine shop to produce parts that require secondary operations to supply a complete part if you are not able.
Sign Letters and Floor Logos - JDA can cut many different fonts in many different materials helping you manufacture and distribute sign letters, plastic letters, and metal letters.
